@BPglobalPR and Negative Brand Value

Leroy Stick is the man behind @BPglobalPR. One of his nuggets, regarding the BP brand:

"FORGET YOUR BRAND. You don't own it because it is literally nothing."

I would go a step further and say that the BP brand is actually a liability at this point rather than an asset.

"Lead the pack! Evolve! Don't send hundreds of temp workers to the gulf to put on a show for the President. Hire those workers to actually work! Don't dump toxic dispersant into the ocean just so the surface looks better. Collect the oil and get it out of the water! Don't tell your employees that they can't wear respirators while they work because it makes for a bad picture. Take a picture of those employees working safely to fix the problem. Lastly, don't keep the press and the people trying to help you away from the disaster, open it up so people can see it and help fix it."

BP, we hate you for all the reasons above and because you are evil. Stop being evil and truly atone for your sins by helping to make the world a cleaner and better place to live, instead of destroying it, and we won't have to hate you anymore. Except for the families and friends of the 11 men who died. They will always hate you.

  1. I do not know all of the facts regarding this situation but I saw that a documentary is or will be made on this disaster documenting how bad BP is handling the situation including all those reasons you mention above. Every attempt to stop the gushing oil has just made the situation worse. It seems as if little to no planning is being done with these solutions. Nice blog, keep us all updated.
