The Fallout Continues

While BP would like you to believe that the fallout from the spill is local and easily contained, the reality is the exact opposite. A new study has indicated that Bluefin Tuna populations as far away as New England may be affected by the spill. [The Boston Globe]

  1. For years BP have attracted a great deal of negative PR in the UK because of their massive profits in the face of ridiculous petrol/gasoline prices. Every year BP 'weathered the storm' and completely ignored any suggestion that they reduce their forecourt prices. Many times BP stated that more money was made selling sandwiches at petrol stations than selling petrol!

I think this has been a huge oversight and it is very obvious now - BP's profits and competitiveness have been underpinned by neglect and a serious ignorance of health and safety regulations. I believe the Health and Safety breaches found against BP in the US is over 300 compared to similar firms who keep their figures below double figures. The CEO attitude also confirms that this is the case - dead people and ruined shores and he is talking about getting his life back!!!!!
